Using CET Social on Android Tablets

No different from how you have been using it on Android phone,  install app from  google play using your tablet (Ice Cream Sandwich or up)  and good to go. You may want to check a detailed write up about application and features from online manual.
The app works great as in mobile, but needs to make good  use of wider screens (7 inch or 10 inch),  esp., fonts.  Hope the future updates will address such issues.

We welcome you feedback!

5 minute mock tests?

The CET Social and more apps soon to be released will continue to follow 5 X 5 pattern; five minutes for each mock test, five mock tests per topic every week . These apps are designed for mobiles or tablets  to help practice or play anywhere, e.g. while waiting at bus stop. You do not have to set aside a dedicated time of longer duration to try these quizzes. The question bang! apps are kind of multiplayer games, you play your quizzes and can know your standing every  5 minutes. The limited number of quizzes ( CET social has 20 quizzes every week) is to ensure less time to play and compare rankings.
We are adding more analytic to future versions, esp., average scoring trends to help you monitor your regular progress.

Have you been trying CET Social? Should you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Scoring trends – rank v/s score

One of our users have been doing extremely well in PCB, while the user seems to have opted for stat instead of bio in class 12th. This did happen for the user only for 1-2 weeks, but not longer. May be the student was good at bio during class 10th or good at guessing. You should be watching your absolute score,  relative score is just about how others are doing.
Top 5 leader board has been hovering around 30%-40% marks (both for PCM and PCB), and 9 to 10 % of the total contestants (about 130-150 students every week) made this to the list. But the app leader board shows only five contestants who completed the quizzes sooner.

It has been a contest between 10% of users so far. Going by the scores even those top 5% of CET Social users from last 2 weeks have less chance of making to into say top 30,000 in CET or AIPMT.
A good guess while answering multiple choice questions can achieve a score up to 10-15%, but may not be of any significance.
Roughly 5-6 % of contestants (approx 100 every week) are computer simulated  contestants, where the randomized answer choices are used (e.g picking one choice from a group of one correct and 2 wrong answers randomly).

Just to summarize, if you are one of the top 5, and if your score is  less than 40% it is no good!

Please aim for  90% or more absolute score, please keep a close watch on your absolute score, disregard ranking.

Qb’s day out

We have been demonstrating CET Social app in some of the PU  colleges  around Hubli and  Dharwad.  We knew that an app like CET Social would not need any presentation or demo, but it  was important for us to  get to know the end users and user community at large.

It has been an enriching experience to interact with  finest of  teachers and students of Hubli/Dharwad. Thank you all!

Highlights of  queries we have been answering?

What is question bang! ? CET Social ?

It  is a multi vendor platform  in the making – exclusively for quizzes. The question bang! aims to connect quiz providers and students.
CET Social is our first app, a show case app to  relay weekly quizzes. We have many more apps in the production.

Where do you get questions from?

We have been using questions available on public domain just as a starting point. We are talking to few experts from whom we can source quizzes.
If you are an expert having many years of teaching background, you are the right person we want to partner with,  please write to us!

Is CET Social free?

CET Social  (and other apps in the making) are free to use. We may add in-app purchases in future, by and large users may be able to continue using the application without having to spend money.

Why do results do not show up explanations for the correct answer?

We wanted the students to refer to books or lecture notes to dig out explanations or solutions. It has been our intention to encourage reading subject books and lecture notes while CET Social as a play break. However, we  are going to  come out with a new set of  mock tests with detailed answers and solutions, should be available on play store by end of  December.

Please feel free to contact us should you need further details about our products or services.

Somewhat social?

What is social  in question bang! apps?   As  with our first app  (CET Social), the key  features like  my ranking and top five depend on the number of contestants playing the quiz.  More features  are being planned for the future versions, esp.,  those to share results  and to discuss  quiz topics. Please write to us to know more about future versions.

There were not many  downloads  this week (end of  first week as  the app was released on   16th Sept). May be about 270-300 installs, many decided to share apks instead of downloading from play store. Fine though!  Many of  you have been playing the quizzes,  and some players were from Qb cloud.

Are you one of those top five in CET Social? please let us know just in case you want us to show case your scores on our G+ and Facebook pages.

Please keep playing CET social every week.

Beta blues

We have been using the play store beta for some time,  2 weeks to be precise. Our first app, CET social would be available for download from next week (by 16th Sept 2015). The app went through rigorous testing  through 11  participants who  volunteered for  beta testing . The app works great on  most platforms (Gingerbread to Lollipop), but with minor UI issues in Android 2.3,  Android 3.2 (Honeycomb and Gingerbread).

The app to be released  would require Android 4.0 (Ice cream sandwich) as minimum version. It was decided to  postpone  support  for older Android versions (version < 4.0) while we release the app. Future support for  older  Android  versions ( Honeycomb and older)  would be based on  user feedbacks;  chances are that  there  may not be many  devices using Honeycomb  or  Gingerbread!

Please let us know should you need this app for older Android devices ( version  2.3 – 3.2).
